3-4 Small to Medium Yellow Onions
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
½ teaspoon Onion Powder
¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
¾ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black Pepper
½ cup Milk
1 Large Egg
Cooking Spray (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onions: Peel onions, trim tops, and make cuts to create sections. Soak in ice water for 15-20 minutes
  2. Set Up the Dredging Stations: Prepare wet and dry stations for coating the onions
  3. Coat the Onions: Dip each onion in the wet mixture, then coat thoroughly in the dry mixture
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Heat air fryer to 375°F (190°C)
  5. Air Fry to Golden Perfection: Spray the basket with cooking spray, add coated onions, and air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway
