Cinnamon Roll French Toast is a deliciously transformed breakfast dish that takes day-old cinnamon rolls and turns them into a decadent French toast, perfect for brunch or a special morning treat.

6 large rolls Cinnamon Rolls
3 large Eggs
1/2 cup Whole Milk
1/4 cup Heavy Cream
2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/8 teaspoon Pinch of Salt
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
Maple Syrup for serving
Powdered Sugar for dusting
Fresh Berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: Slice each roll into 1-inch thick rounds and air dry for 15-20 minutes
  2. Whisk the Custard: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt until smooth
  3. Soak the Rolls: Dip each cinnamon roll slice into the egg custard for 15-20 seconds on each side
  4. Heat the Skillet/Griddle: Melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat
  5. Cook the French Toast: Place soaked cinnamon roll slices onto the skillet, cooking for 2-4 minutes per side until golden brow
  6. Repeat and Serve: Remove cooked French Toast and repeat for remaining slices
  7. Garnish and Enjoy: Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, and add berries if desired

Notes

Using day-old cinnamon rolls helps in achieving the desired texture.

Do not over-soak the rolls to prevent sogginess.
