1 ½ cups All-purpose flour
½ cup Granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
1 Large egg
¾ cup Whole milk
¼ cup Unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
¼ cup Granulated sugar (for topping)
1 tablespoon Ground cinnamo
1 cup Powdered sugar (for glaze)
2-3 tablespoons Whole milk or cream (for glaze)
¼ teaspoon Vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pa
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ½ cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt
  3. In another bowl, combine the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined
  5. In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamo
  6. Layer half of the batter in the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clea
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack
  9. For the optional glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, 2-3 tablespoons of milk or cream, and ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bread
