Crispy Air Fryer Fish Tacos are a delicious way to enjoy fish without the guilt of deep frying. With perfectly flaky fish tucked into warm tortillas, topped with fresh slaw and zesty crema, these tacos are a household favorite.

1.5 lbs White Fish Fillets
0.5 cup All-Purpose Flour
2 Large Eggs
1.5 cups Panko Breadcrumbs
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Garlic Powder
0.5 tsp Onion Powder
0.5 tsp Cumi
0.25 tsp Cayenne Pepper
0.5 tsp Salt
0.25 tsp Black Pepper
Olive Oil Spray as needed
12-16 small Corn or Flour Tortillas
2 cups Red Cabbage, finely shredded
0.5 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
4-6 Lime Wedges
0.5 cup Mayonnaise
0.25 cup Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
1-2 tbsp Lime Juice
1 tsp Hot Sauce (optional)
0.25 tsp Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Pat fish fillets dry and cut into 1-inch strips
  2. Set Up Breading Station: Use three shallow dishes for flour, beaten eggs, and seasoned panko breadcrumbs
  3. Bread the Fish: Dredge fish in flour, dip in egg, and coat in panko mixture
  4. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes
  5. Air Fry the Fish: Spray basket with olive oil and arrange fish strips in a single layer. Cook 6-8 minutes, flip, spray again and cook 4-6 more minutes
  6. Warm Tortillas: Warm tortillas using your preferred method
  7. Prepare the Crema (if using): Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  8. Assemble Tacos: Fill warm tortillas with fish, top with cabbage, cilantro, and drizzle with crema. Serve with lime wedges

Ensure fish is dry before breading for the crispiest texture.

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to maintain crispiness.
