1 3/4 cups Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
3 cups Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
1/4 teaspoon Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Pan: Grease an 8×8 or 9×13 inch pan with butter or line with parchment paper
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder over medium heat
  3. Melt and Stir: Stir the mixture constantly until it reaches a rolling boil
  4. Boil for One Minute: Boil for exactly one minute while stirring constantly
  5. Remove from Heat & Add Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt
  6. Add Oats: Quickly add oats to the mixture, stirring until thoroughly coated
  7. Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press evenly and firmly
  8. Chill Time: Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours until set
  9. Cut and Serve: Lift bars from the pan, cut into squares or rectangles, and serve

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute butter with plant-based butter and milk with non-dairy milk.
