Ingredients

Scale

1 pound Fresh Green Beans
4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
4-5 cloves Garlic
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
2-3 cups Water (for blanching)
1 large bowl Ice Water Bath

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Green Beans: First, wash and trim your fresh green beans
  2. Blanch the Green Beans: Bring a medium pot of salted water to a rolling boil, add the trimmed green beans and cook for 2-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and plunge into an ice water bath
  3. Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat
  4. Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant
  5. Add Green Beans: Add the blanched and drained green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly
  6. Season and Finish: Sauté for another 2-3 minutes, then season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  7. Serve Immediately: Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot

Notes

Use fresh, crisp green beans for the best quality.

Don't overcook the beans; aim for al dente.

The ice bath is essential for preserving color and texture.
