¾ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Unsalted Butter
¾ cup Granulated Sugar
½ cup Light Brown Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
½ cup Nutella
½ cup Chocolate Chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Nutella Balls: Scoop about 1 teaspoon of Nutella for each cookie onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the sheet in the freezer for at least 30 minutes, or until the Nutella is very firm
  2. Preheat Oven & Prep Pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this aside
  4. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy
  5. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract
  6. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips if using
  7. Assemble the Cookies: Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of dough, flatten it, place a frozen Nutella ball in the center, wrap the dough around the Nutella, and roll into a ball
  8. Arrange and Bake: Place cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie
  9. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers still look slightly soft
  10. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack
