Irresistible Crispy Fried Banana Peppers (Just Like Longhorn’s!) are a flavorful, crunchy appetizer featuring sweet, tangy banana peppers in a perfectly seasoned batter, making for an unforgettable snack experience.

2 jars (16 oz) Jarred Sliced Banana Peppers, drained and patted dry
1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
½ cup Cornstarch
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (or more)
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black Pepper
2 Large Eggs, beate
½ cup Milk (any kind)
2 cups Panko Breadcrumbs
4-6 cups Vegetable Oil (or Canola)
Your favorite Dipping Sauce

Instructions

  1. Drain the jarred banana peppers thoroughly and pat them dry
  2. Set up three shallow dishes: one with the flour mixture, one with the egg wash, and one with the Panko breadcrumbs
  3. Heat the oil in a large pot to 350-375°F (175-190°C)
  4. Dredge the banana peppers in the flour mixture, dip in the egg wash, then coat with Panko breadcrumbs
  5. Fry the peppers in small batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brow
  6. Drain on a wire rack and lightly sprinkle with salt before serving

Notes

Make sure to dry the banana peppers thoroughly to achieve maximum crispiness.

Don't overcrowd the pot when frying to prevent sogginess.
