Korean BBQ Steak Bowls are a delicious blend of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors, featuring tender, marinated steak served over fluffy rice and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

1.5 lbs Flank Steak or Skirt Steak
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
2 tbsp Sesame Oil
4 cloves Garlic
1 tbsp Fresh Ginger
1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
1-2 tsp Gochujang (Korean Chili Paste)
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
3 cups cooked White or Brown Rice
1 cup Carrots
1 cup Cucumber
1 cup Red Cabbage
2-3 Scallions
1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
1/2 cup Kimchi
1 Fried Egg

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, gochujang (if using), and black pepper until brown sugar is dissolved
  2. Marinate the Steak: Add the flank or skirt steak to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
  3. Cook the Rice: Cook the rice according to package instructions
  4. Prep Your Toppings: Slice the carrots, cucumber, shred the red cabbage, and chop the scallions
  5. Cook the Steak: Heat a pan over medium-high heat, add oil, and cook marinated steak for 1-2 minutes per side until cooked through
  6. Rest the Steak: Let the cooked steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grai
  7. Assemble Your Bowls: Serve rice in bowls, top with steak and fresh vegetables, and garnish as desired
