Ingredients

Scale

1 ½ cups Warm Water (105-115°F / 40-46°C)
2 ¼ teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar
3 ½ – 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (or Bread Flour), plus more for dusting
1 ½ teaspoons Fine Sea Salt
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus more for greasing

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 ½ cups of flour and the fine sea salt
  3. Mix the Dough: Pour the olive oil into the activated yeast mixture, then gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until a shaggy dough forms
  4. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 7-10 minutes until smooth and elastic
  5. First Rise: Grease a clean bowl with olive oil, place the dough inside, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 ½ hours until doubled in size
  6. Punch Down & Rest: Once risen, punch down the dough, cover and let it rest for 10-15 minutes
  7. Shape the Dough: Lightly flour your work surface and stretch or roll the dough into your desired shape
  8. Bake Your Pizza: Transfer to a baking sheet, add toppings, and bake in a preheated oven at 450-500°F for 10-15 minutes

Notes

For a thin crust, divide the dough into two or three smaller portions.

You can refrigerate the dough for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
