1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 large Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract (optional)
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 cups Powdered Sugar, sifted
2-3 tablespoons Milk (whole or half-and-half)
Pinch of Salt
Green Gel Food Coloring (optional)
Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream Butter and Sugar until light and fluffy
  2. Add Egg, Vanilla Extract, and Almond Extract; mix well
  3. Whisk together Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt in a separate bowl
  4. Gradually combine dry mixture with wet ingredients
  5. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare baking sheets
  7. Roll out the dough and cut into shamrock shapes
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golde
  9. Cool cookies on a wire rack
  10. Prepare Vanilla Glaze by whisking Powdered Sugar, Milk, Vanilla Extract, and Salt
  11. Glaze cooled cookies and allow glaze to set
