Ingredients

Scale

2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Unsalted butter
1 ½ cups Granulated sugar
2 Large eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
½ – 1 teaspoon Green gel food coloring
½ cup Confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this aside for now
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light, fluffy, and pale in color
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract
  4. Color the Dough: Add the green gel food coloring and mix until the color is evenly distributed
  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined
  6. Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours
  7. Preheat Oven & Prepare Coating: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  8. Scoop and Roll: Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the chilled dough. Roll each portion in granulated sugar, then in confectioners' sugar
  9. Bake: Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes
  10. Cool: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely

Notes

Use gel food coloring for a vibrant color without affecting dough consistency.

Do not skip chilling time for proper crinkle formation.
